As an electrical engineer with more than 12 years’ experience in the manufacturing sector, I was looking for a new challenge with an innovative outfit.

That’s when a young company in full expansion in the field of renewable energy contacted me and asked me to join them.

The management team’s enthusiastic description of the company’s mission and vision, and getting to meet the young, dynamic individuals who made up the team rapidly convinced me that AAER Inc. was a quality environment in which to pursue my career.

In only a few weeks, I have discovered a dynamic and caring organization that spares no effort to stimulate the creativity of all its employees.

Being a part of the first Canadian wind manufacturer is definitely a stimulating and enriching experience for the technology is still in its young and it will provide no end of challenges in the coming years!

With 20 years of experience in the labour force behind me, I was at a crossroads in my life. I really wanted to find a field of application where my experience and efforts could contribute positively to the advancement and prosperity of society.

For me, that field would have to involve clean, non-polluting technology. Constructive rather than destructive technology. My employment search was thus conducted with that in mind. When I learned that a wind turbine manufacturer would soon set up shop in Bromont, I read up on it.

I learned that the company’s values and its approach to sustainable development agreed with my own principles and way of seeing things. I saw that wind turbines represented a forward-looking industry in North America. I wanted to be a part of it. Today, I’m very proud to say that my work contributes to the development of a product that is sustainable, respects the environment, and benefits society.

The proximity of the workplace, the opportunity to play an active role in a company’s development, and that company’s commitment to preserving the environment were all good reasons for me to join the AAER team. As Assistant to the Director of Operations, I must face numerous challenges.

Over the months, I’ve discovered a dynamic company and a young team that is driven and highly qualified. Their varied backgrounds, skill sets and know-how make for a unique and quite complementary collection of talents. AAER Inc. listens to its employees and does what it can to apply on a daily basis its values of sustainable development and respect for the environment and individuals.

I joined the AAER Inc. team because I am a firm believer in the future of “green” energy and of technologies that minimize the impact of human development. I realized early on in my engineering career the impact my work had on the world around me. The power of the individual is formidable and cannot be overlooked.

Nowadays, I think the environmental factor must be given the consideration it deserves, and that is why I decided to take concrete action by joining AAER.
